Museum het Belfort Sluis, Groote Markt, Sluis, Nederland
Museum Belfort Sluis
In the charming centre of Sluis stands the Belfry, the only one of its kind in the Netherlands. The tower dates back to the 14th and 15th centuries.
Originally, a belfry was a medieval tower with bells used to signal important events such as fires, approaching enemies, or the announcement of laws. Later, it became part of the town hall.
Today, the belfry remains a symbol of civic pride, prestige, and history.
