The Fisheries Museum

Breskens has a rich history as a fishing village. In this interactive museum you will find ship models, fishing attributes, fossils retrieved from the sea and a beautiful sea aquarium with local fish and sharks. A perfect outing, even if the weather is a bit off.

A breath of fresh air on the beach

Breskens has miles of wide and clean sandy beaches. Ideal for a long beach walk or a day of sunbathing. Afterwards, settle down at one of the cozy beach pavilions (such as Loods Tien or Breskens aan Zee) for a snack and a drink with a direct view of the passing ships.

Take the ferry to Vlissingen

From the port of Breskens, you can take the bicycle and foot ferry to Vlissingen. The boat trip of about 20 minutes is in itself a relaxing outing where you pass the big sea ships up close. Once on the other side, you can stroll along the longest boulevard in the Netherlands.
